Dressing the Modern Rajputana Bride

Dressing the Modern Rajputana Bride

She lives in Mumbai, or Dubai, or London. She has opinions about tailoring and a Pinterest board of her grandmother's wedding. On the morning of her own wedding she wants the silhouette of 1962 and the comfort of 2026, and she is entirely right to want both.

Our counsel is always the same: keep the grammar, ease the weight. A modern bridal poshak can lose half a kilo of lining without losing an ounce of ceremony. Zardozi concentrated at the border reads richer than zardozi everywhere. And an odhna draped a finger's width further back changes a face entirely.

The neutral palette — bone, ivory, sand, our deep teal — photographs like candlelight and ages better than trend colours. Ten years from now, the photographs should look inevitable, not dated.

Come to the atelier with your grandmother's odhna if you have it. We have built entire trousseaus around a single inherited border. There is no better starting point than something that has already been loved.
